There was a wonderful interview with Nathan Chen and his mother on the Today Show today. He had just come off the plane from winning the gold medal in figure skating at the Beijing Olympics and had not seen his mother yet. Nathan put his gold medal around her neck as soon as he saw her. You could see the strong bond between them full of love and appreciation for each other. She said it was very heavy because there was so much work and effort that went into it by Nathan, his family, coaches, and everyone involved.
