We will know
We will know racism no longer exists
when “They and Them” don’t refer to an entire people;
When
One act by one person doesn’t define “they and them ”;
When
a characteristic of one isn’t assumed to be
the characteristic of all.
Racism won’t exist
When
We see each other as
unique individuals
responsible for our own actions
and not those of an entire culture.
And when
A person is loved because s/he is a person;
is respected because of
what is understood about her—
about him
and
Not about her race-his race.
